What are your office hours?

Our business office is open Monday through Friday, from 8 am – 4:00 pm, except for holidays. Our sales office, is open Monday through Friday  9 am – 5:30 pm and Saturday 10 am – 2 pm.

What are the minimum qualification to apply? 

The minimum requirements are: stable income/job for at least 1 year, income is about 2.5 times the rent, and NO evictions or judgement. Must be at least 18 years of age.

Where can I see all of Urban Alternatives available rentals?

You can find a list of our available apartments by clicking here. You may also set up a showing by calling our office at 773-745-8153.

Are pets allowed in the apartment?

Dogs are NOT allowed, but you may have one cat in your apartment for which we charge a $100 refundable fee.

Does Urban Alternatives offer units with heat included?

Yes, various units include heat. Please see our apartments for amenity information or contact us at (773)745-8153.

Can I set up a satellite dish/DirectTV?

Satellite dishes/DirectTV are not allowed.

Can I move in with partial payment?

No, all rents and fees must be paid before move-in.  They must be paid with cashier checks or money orders.

Do you accept personal checks?

Yes, personal checks are accepted for subsequent payments.  Any returned checks are subject to a $50 fee. After two returned checks, they will not be accepted.

Do you do background checks?

Yes, all applicants are subject to background checks including/but not limited to a consumer credit check, check for previous eviction(s), landlord references, and other checks deemed to be appropriate.

Where can I get an application?

You may download the application on our website or pick it up from our office located at 5934 W. North Ave. Chicago, IL. 60639.

How long does my application take to be processed?

Depending upon responses from credit report agencies and references, an approval can take from 24 to 72 hours.

 If I have a Maintenance Issue at home, who should I contact?

Please contact our office at (773) 745-8153 between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm, our representative will immediately process your call and create a work order. If after business hours, please leave a message, and we will respond within 24 hours. You may also submit a work order request through your tenant online portal.
